Free Bible Study Software
Both of the programs listed here are free. They are worth many hundreds of dollars. Both have extensive libraries available both from the software provider and from users. e-Sword is easier to master than theWord and is ideal for the beginning Bible student and those with limited computer skills. Both programs offer free and purchasable Bibles in English, biblical languages, and foreign languages. There are plenty of commentaries, dictionaries, and theological books available for each.
e-Sword, in the words of its creator Rick Myers, “is a fast and effective way to study the Bible. e-Sword is feature rich and user friendly with more capabilities than you would expect in a free software package. theWord is a little more complex than e-Sword. It has capabilities that e-Sword does not have and is for the serious Bible student who has a moderate amount of computer skills. theWord is portable and can fit on a flash drive. The following two paragraphs are from theWord's website.
